ASRC research is embarking on a new paradigm of doing science. Our interdisciplinary model is breaking down the boundaries between traditional disciplines of science (chemistry, physics, biology, etc.) and working to see the interconnections and patterns that exist throughout all of nature.
We organize our research floors based on different scales of nature, starting from really small things like atoms and moving up to an Earth sized scale where we study the environment. The ASRC serves as a research facility for all of CUNY but people from many other organizations and businesses also use our tools and laboratories.

What Happens at the ASRC?
The ASRC is all about doing interdisciplinary science and research. This means instead of breaking up departments into subjects like chemistry, physics and biology we like to mix these concepts together to find new and creative ways of thinking. We organize our research floors based on different scales of nature, starting from really small things like atoms and moving up to an Earth sized scale where we study the environment.
