Rodent Behavioral Analysis Suite

The Rodent Behavioral Analysis Suite contains three high-quality sound-attenuating test rooms, each equipped with a video tracking system with multiple arena, multiple body Point, and trial and hardware control modules. This allows the behavioral assessment of a variety of panels of anxiety, depression, learning tasks, and automated motor function characterization. The Suite also provides a variety of mazes, optogenetic stimulation tool box, and foot shock chambers for various animal models and behavioral analysis.

Facility Details

The Rodent Behavioral Analysis Suite contains three sound-attenuating test rooms. All rooms are equipped with Ethovision XT video tracking system. All rooms are the same size but vary slightly in set up and capabilities:

Test Room 1

Test Room 1 is equipped with a top view camera connected to Ethovision XT. This room can be used for behavioral testing using various mazes. This room does NOT have the capability of optogenetics stimulation.

Test Room 2

Test Room 2 is equipped with a top view camera connected to Ethovision XT containing trial and hardware control module, which enables Ethovision to control hardware in a time-specific manner. This room can be set up for behavioral testing using various mazes combined with optogenetics stimulation during the tests.

Test Room 3

Test Room 3 is equipped with a side view camera connected to Ethovision XT. This room can be used for behavioral testing requiring side views (e.g. forced swim test). It also allows flexible use of foot shock chambers or optogenetics stimulation which does NOT require the control over Ethovision XT.

Use of the Rodent Behavioral Suite is charged on per room, per hour basis.
