Hanna Makowski, Ph.D.

  • Postdoctoral Research Associate, Reinmann Lab, Environmental Sciences Initiative

Hanna Makowski is a postdoctoral fellow at Black Rock Forest and is a part of the Reinmann Lab and the ASRC and the Carnaval Lab at CCNY. She is interested in determining the environmental and genetic drivers of variation in fall leaf color change and drop in multiple tree species. She will also be testing how variation in leaf timing influences tree carbon uptake and how that variation can impact forest resilience with climate change. She joins the lab after finishing her PhD in evolutionary biology at the University of Virginia where she studied plant mating system evolution in the Galloway lab.
