The Nanoscience Initiative is excited to host our annual CUNY Nano Day Symposium! Please join us and the CUNY Nanoscience Community to share our research stories and welcome new researchers into the community. The virtual symposium will feature interactive talks by CUNY researchers on topics ranging from nanomedicine to sustainable energy, a Science Art & Meme Competition, and a fun networking session.

This is a virtual symposium to be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 (Earth Day) from 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Keynote Speaker
Maria Tamargo | The City College of New York
- Joined the Chemistry department at the City College of New York in 1993
- Her research on molecular beam epitaxial (MBE) growth of various materials systems have promising applications in photonics, quantum computing, and spintronics
- Served as the Dean of Science at CCNY (2001 – 2007), Executive Officer of the Doctoral Program in Chemistry at the CUNY Graduate Center (2011 – 2014), and is currently the Director of the NSF CREST Center for Interface Design and Engineered Assembly of Low Dimensional Systems (IDEALS)
- Dedicated to mentoring minority students in STEM and training the next generation of PhD scientists
