Dr. Younes Ra’di

Research Assistant Professor, ASRC Photonics Initiative
Director of RF/mm-wave Core Facility

Younes Ra’di’s current research interests include wave physics and engineering with an emphasis on the engineering characteristics of optical wave-matter interaction. He has made significant contributions in areas such as bianisotropic particles, optimal materials for strong light-matter interactions, and functional metasurfaces. He has earned several research awards and grants, including the Samsung Global Research Outreach and Nokia Foundation Grants grants. He has published several papers in a number of prestigious peer reviewed journals including Physical Review X, Physical Review Letters, and IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation.

Before joining ASRC, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to that, he worked at the Radiation Laboratory (Radlab) of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor as a postdoctoral research fellow. He earned his D.Sc. with distinction from Aalto University, Espoo, Finland, in 2015, and he has a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. (with honors), both in electrical engineering, from the University of Tabriz, Iran.
