- Postdoctoral Research Associate, Ulijn Lab, Nanoscience Initiative
Yaewon Park was born in Seoul, South Korea. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Clothing and Textiles from Seoul National University. During her undergraduate study, she found textiles have a variety of applications in science and technology- not limited to fashion-and developed a huge passion for technical textiles. She pursued the Master of Science in Clothing and Textiles at Seoul National University under the direction of Dr. Chung Hee Park. She joined the Ph.D. program in Fiber and Polymer Science at North Carolina State University as a provost doctoral recruitment fellow. Her doctoral advisor is Dr. Ericka Ford. She is now working as a postdoctoral research associate in Dr. Xi Chen’s lab at the ASRC on the development of water responsive polymeric fibers.
