Rachel Fisher, Ph.D.

  • Postdoctoral Research Associate, Elbaum-Garfinkle Lab, Structural Biology Initiative

Rachel Fisher graduated with a B.Sc. in chemistry from the University of Edinburgh before going on to obtain a Ph.D., awarded jointly by the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Her Ph.D. research focused on using single-molecule fluorescence and multiphoton techniques to study DNA containing fluorescence base analogues. She is currently working in Dr. Shana Elbaum-Garfinkle’s lab, where she uses fluorescence-based techniques to study phase separation of proteins.

Research Interests

Single-molecule techniques, intracellular liquid organelles, phase separation of proteins, microscopy, DNA, fluorescent base analogues.
