John Grzelewski

John Grzelewski joined the ASRC as its Budget Director in October 2014. He oversees all ASRC budgets (all funding sources), indirect cost returns, purchasing, accounts payable, and financial projections.

Prior to joining the ASRC, John worked for MTA New York City Transit’s Office of Management and Budget for 22 years with progressive responsibilities. As the Budget Chief Bus Business Planning, John directed and provided oversight in the development, analysis and reporting of the Department of Buses annual operating and reimbursable budgets and oversaw the development and implementation of various financial models to assess productivity opportunities, allocate operating costs based on changes in service plans and development of life cycle cost models to optimize maintenance and operating costs to optimize maintenance practices and support future fleet purchase decisions. He also oversaw the NYC Transit diesel fuel and energy budgets and provided analytic support for energy-efficiency projects.

As well as his work with at MTA New York City Transit, John has experience working in New York City government at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget. His responsibilities as part of the Office of Budget Review focused on analyzing and forecasting requirements for NYC Fringe Benefit programs for City employees as well Judgements and Claims expenditures for NYC agencies.

John holds a BS in Political Science and a Master of Science in Policy Analysis and Public Management from Stony Brook University.
