Hongbo Hao earned her Medicine degree at China Medical University, and obtained her M.S. degree at Peking Union Medical College, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. She is a physician in Hematology/Oncology in China and specialized in the treatment of malignant hematologic diseases (Chemotherapy, Targeted drug therapy, and Bone Marrow Transplantation).
Hongbo joined the Epigenetics Core Facility at the Neuroscience Initiative as a senior lab technician in October 2019. Prior to ASRC, she was at the Laboratory of Cancer Biology in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine as a research associate. She is interested in studying the role of PTEN in mediating the tumor-immune interplay. Her research goal is to facilitate translation of my research finding into improvement of cancer treatment for patients.
Hongbo is interested in using animal models combined with molecular tools to understand the mechanisms of stress-induced depression and myelin repair in CNS.
