Dr. Ayala Lampel

Ayala gained her PhD in Biotechnology from Tel Aviv University, under the supervision of Prof. Ehud Gazit. Her work mainly focused on the molecular mechanism underlying viral self-assembly, as well as on the development of new therapeutic tools by targeting the viral assembly process. Ayala joined the Ulijn group at the ASRC in June 2015 as a research associate postdoctoral fellow, to work on peptide-based extracellular matrix-mimicking materials and the design of nanostructures for biomedical applications.

Research Interests

Peptide self-assembly, extracellular matrix-mimicking gels, mechanotransduction in cancer cells
