Aldo Orlando joined the ASRC after 23 years as the director of environmental health and safety at Brooklyn College. He is responsible for establishing safety protocols and managing environmental compliance for the new science center.
A graduate of Hunter College, where he earned both his bachelor and master degrees in environmental and occupational health science, Mr. Orlando was New York City’s industrial hygiene manager, a post in which he set up safety programs for many municipal agencies. At Brooklyn College, he developed and implemented campus-wide programs, including laboratory safety and hazardous materials management policies and procedures.
A native of Italy, Mr. Orlando moved to New York with his family when he was 13. In addition to his academic degrees, he is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, a globally recognized standard of professional competence in the field.
